Difficult for anyone who does not have a soft spot for this loving, gentle and funny sad looking dog. Breed known as the 'Fred' cartoon strip and as the face of the famous brand footwear, Bassett Hound, this dog has made a successful transition from the hunter an excellent family pet. It is also often used as a mascot for a variety of purposes.
I love it. Our mom tells us stories about past pets and stories about us all the time. Usually it is when we are out walking (where we are alone so no one has Mom sent to a psych ward), but she feels that it is good for us to hear her tell us stories about past pets as well as ourselves. We like to listen but never comment.
